About:
Taboo is the heart of soulful music in San Francisco. Located in the city's Mission District at Pink, Taboo has quickly become one of San Francisco's best weekly parties.
Taboo opened in August 1999 and is the product of DJ/Producer, David Harness, a man who lives, breathes, and emanates everything that is beautiful about deep house music and classic garage. The club was born out of David's love of house music and his desire to provide a showcase for Bay Area talent. The rhythmic vibe, from an eclectic blend of house, garage and club classics, attracts a loyal crowd of House Heads from around the Bay Area and the globe to the weekly blending of spirit and soul.
There is nothing exclusive or pretentious about Taboo. Regardless of color, age, sexual preference or social attributes, everyone is welcomed. Taboo's intimate setting and uplifting message of the deep soulful grooves, mixed with the openness of San Francisco, allows everyone the pleasure and opportunity to find inspiration, establish friendships and rejuvenate ones soul.
Since its inception, Taboo has played host to an array of guest DJ's, such as Frankie Feliciano, Mr. V, Patrick Wilson, Master Kev, E-Man, Jojo Flores, Tedd Patterson, The Pound Boys, Chris Pagil, Mustafa, Todd Dimery, Miss Honey Dijon, and Neon Leon.
We extend an invitation to you to become part of the Taboo family. Whenever you find yourself in San Francisco - the door is always open. It is the intent of David Harness and the staff of Taboo to provide a safe, intimate environment in which people from all walks of life can come together to enjoy the energy and realness of house music.
